The protocol

1. 1
   Out on a schedule: after waking, eating, playing, and every 3 hours.

   Same door, same spot, on leash, boring.

2. 2
   Say “go potty” once as they start; “yes” + treat the second they finish.

   Outside, right there — not back in the kitchen.

3. 3
   Catch a squat inside → interrupt, carry them out, finish outside, reward.

   Found it later? Clean it, say nothing, tighten the schedule.
